SHERMAN & BIG LOTS! Bristol Post Race Release

Bristol, Tenn. (March 26, 2007) -

The Big Lots! Chevrolet suffered what could have been a race ending accident on lap 6 when Jon Wood's No. 47 car spun in turn four and slid down the track into the path of Sherman.  However, the McGill motorsports team refused to give up valuable points and worked hard to repair the damages.  After spending 160 laps of the 300-lap event in the garage making repairs, the Big Lots! machine made it back on track and completed 134 total laps to avoid a DNF (Did not finish) and finished  37th

"While today was very disappointing getting into an accident so early in the race, I think it says a lot about our team that we were able to get back on the track and finish the race.  We are looking at the big picture and every point and position means something.  This team worked extremely hard to get the car repaired and it led to us finishing 37th instead of 43rd."  Sherman said.  "It is important that we do not dwell on bad luck or what could have been's, but that we keep moving forward."  He continued, "We are going to test at Richmond this week so hopefully we will gain some information for our race there in May."

After testing at Richmond International Raceway on March 27th and 28th, the Big Lots! team will enjoy a weekend off before heading to Nashville Superspeedway for the Pepsi 300 on April 7th
