Sherman Finishes 14th In Both Races At The Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (July 5, 2008) – During the first race of the Twin Corning 100’s Panther drivers Brent Sherman and Dillon Battistini each improved their starting positions before the race ended after the hour time limit had expired.  Sherman, the driver of the No. 16 National Guard Delphi car, started in the 18th position, but finished the race in 14th position.

In the second race of the Corning Twin 100’s, the results for the Panther drivers were much the same as in the first race.  Sherman brought home is racecar in the 14th position, matching his finish from race one.   Sherman now sits in ninth place in the championship standings.

Brent Sherman, No. 16 National Guard Delphi (Firestone Indy Lights):

"I couldn’t trust the car in the first race.  It was very unpredictable; under braking it was unpredictable.  In race two I drove into the turns deeper with no problem.  The breaking was definitely a lot better.  The rear and front of the car were better as well.  The car was good in race two.  I’m not happy with the results though.  I am comfortable with the car, and we will definitely be challenging in the upcoming road races.”
