BRENT SHERMAN AND TEAM BIG LOTS! NAPA AUTO PARTS 200 PREVIEW

Spartanburg, S.C. (August 1, 2007) –

What started out as a promising weekend in Indianapolis after Sherman qualified 21st for the Kroger 200 came to an end part way through the race as the No. 36 Big Lots! Chevrolet would be plagued by electrical and suspension issues.  Despite losing a number of laps while getting the machine repaired, Sherman and the McGill Motorsports team battled back for a 33rd place finish.

"We had high hopes going into Indianapolis and Ricky Pearson and the team gave me a good setup on the car, but the car had some mechanical problems that ended our hopes for a good finish."  Sherman said.  "The team did a good job of fixing the problems, but when we lost that many laps, it made it impossible to get the finish our team deserves."  Sherman continued, "I am looking forward to going to Montreal and being a part of Nascar's inaugural race in Canada.  There are going to be a lot of road course specialists that have raced there before in their respective series, but I think that if we can be patient and keep the car intact, we can have a real solid finish."

Ricky Pearson, Sherman's crew chief states, "We are bringing the same car that we used at Watkins Glen last August where Max Pappis finished 14th and earlier this year at Mexico City where Brent finished 15th.  Max really helped us with the setup of the car on the road course, and Brent did a fine job in Mexico City.  We are looking forward to a good weekend in Montreal."
