After starting 41st
in Bristol, Sherman would pick up positions until lap 133 when he got tangled
up in a accident on the frontstretch involving Nextel Cup regulars Kasey
Kahne, Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer. While Kahne would go on to win the
race, the tangle left Sherman with a 31st place finish.
Now Sherman and
the McGill Motorsports team are looking to regroup in California.
"We had another tough race in
Bristol but we have to keep our heads up. We have nine races left this year
and this whole team has worked too hard to not come back strong." Sherman
said. "We have some good data from our spring race in California as well as
the testing session at Las Vegas in the spring. We will use the practice
sessions to get the setup close to where I like it and then we will have to
buckle down and hope to have a strong finish on Saturday."
Crew chief,
Ricky Pearson is hopeful on the weekend. "We have run well at California
previously and we have confidence in Brent's abilities as a driver." Pearson
said. "I am real excited about this weekend, and I think we will have good
results."
